An Audiovisual Checklist
1. Is your audiovisual worth making?
Ø Is it essential to the understanding of the topic?
Ø Does the topic deserve the emphasis an audiovisual provides?
2. Will words alone describe your point?
Ø If words are sufficient, don't make an audiovisual.
3. Does the audiovisual complement the rest of the presentation?
Ø Your audiovisual should support, not confuse, the main point of your topic.
4. Is your audiovisual simple (and not ornate)?
Ø It should be free from incompatible and complicating symbols, ideas, and art techniques.
5. Is it visually fluent?
Ø Is it really one visual or several? What about overlays?
Ø Was the art work designed for this medium, or borrowed without modification from another type of presentation?
6. Does it utilize all available techniques which improve its efficiency?
Ø Is colour used effectively?
Ø Is sound used appropriately?
7. Is the audiovisual readable and/or audible by your audience?
Ø Is there an unobstructed view of the screen?
Ø Is printing large enough?
Ø Is the audio level high enough?
8. How much effort did you put into your audiovisual?
Ø Is it as good as you can make it?
Ø Have you sought criticism from others?
Ø Have you tested the visual?
