The President's Graduate Teaching Assistant Awards

Dalhousie University recognizes and applauds the important contributions of Graduate Teaching Assistants to the educational mission of the University. The work of TAs, both in the classrooms or laboratories and behind the scenes, provides cr ucial supp ort for faculty members and greatly enhances the learning process for undergraduate students. Each year, the President's Graduate Teaching Assistant Awards are presented to those TAs who have achieved outstanding success in the area of undergrad uate inst ruction.

Because of growing concern for the quality of university teaching and learning, all TAs would be well advised to keep a record of their teaching activities in order to demonstrate their ability to fulfill this part of a faculty member's duties. Informa tion on the Teaching Dossier is readily available in the library or through the Office of Instructional Development and Technology. An outline of the essential components of the Teaching Dossier is contained in the next section .

We invite you to participate in the nomination process for this year's President's Graduate Teaching Assistants Awards. Watch for the Call for Nominations or telephone Zita Hildebrandt at the CLTT at 494-1622 for further information.
